- Released in 1981 with a star-studded cast, The Cannonball Run is a legendary film centered around an illegal cross-country race from the East Coast of the United States to California. - One of the film's highlights is the strategic tactics used by the contestants. Their plan was to use their charms to sway male police officers into overlooking speeding and traffic violations—but things didn't always go as planned. - The iconic opening scene, featuring the duo in a high-speed chase with a police car, became a hallmark of the Cannonball series. - The actual vehicle used in the film was inducted as the 30th car into the National Historic Vehicle Register by the Library of Congress.
